Debby and Jen wanted to show you some other options for creating wikis other than pbwiki.com. This site was created in WikiDot (www.wikidot.com).
For the complete site, please go to [http://www.onlinelearning101.pbwiki.com].
Begin your exploration of web resources for teaching by watching the following video we found on YouTube. The video is from the Norwegian Broadcasting Company (with English subtitles) and is a spoof of a technical help desk.
Pros:
Complete instructions exist for English, German & French at present. The Spanish site is apparently under development, but not useful at present.
Open-Source (This means that a worldwide community of web developers keeps the site up-to-date for free. It is not a commercial operation.)
No advertisements (see open-source above)

Cons:
Slightly steeper learning curve than PBWiki (www.pbwiki.com)
Theme and other setting changes don't take immediate effect. You have to refresh your browser.
The changes are put in a modified HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) format, so you cannot see the changes on your edit screen.
I could not find out how to get back to my own site after changing things in Site Manager (how stupid)!
Pro or Con (depending upon your ability level):
Ability to create your own page set-up in the edit function.
The con to this is that the edit function is messier than in PBWiki.
